Program Impact
Since 2016, the IDEAS Program, formerly known as the Capacity Building Program for U.S. Study Abroad, has supported U.S. colleges and universities in their efforts to create, expand, and diversify study abroad and other international opportunities on their campuses through grants and capacity building initiatives.
In 2023 the IDEAS Program awarded grants to 34 institutions. Minority-serving institutions comprise 40 percent of those institutions, two-year institutions represent 25 percent, and 25 percent are rural-serving institutions.
Below are some of the highlights of the impact of the program’s small grants, trainings, and resources. Check out the grantee profiles to see the impact the program has had at their institutions, and plan to join us at one of our upcoming trainings!
